Fair Contract Now: 2027-29 Contract Negotiations
WFSE's 52,000 members didn't come to the negotiating table expecting rainbows and unicorns. We knew negotiations would be tough, and that the budget is incredibly challenging.
But we didn't expect the state to let it slip that"not a dime" had been authorized for our members 2027-29 union contracts, or that the state would be so eager to double down on the same failed economic policies that helped create the state budget shortfall in the first place.
So we're walking out statewide on August 31st, and asking all of our members to send a message to the governor's team, OFM, and college and university leadership.

On 7/8/2026, your DOC Bargaining Team met with the agency and OFM. This was the seventh of our ten scheduled bargaining meetings before mediation. OFM did an economics presentation and returned some articles back to the team.
