Member Lobbying

What is a Lobby Day?
No other workforce has more at stake in decisions made by elected officials. The legislature decides our wages, working conditions, and benefits. State employees can't afford to not be involved in politics. Lobby days are the way that WFSE members can speak to their legislators on issues that impact state employees. Each legislative session, WFSE member lobbyists are trained by the Legislative and Political Action Team on what to expect and how to talk to legislators about our legislative priorities like funding our contracts and passing pro-labor legislation.
When are they Held?
Our lobby days are held during Washington’s legislative session, usually between January and March or April. Lobby days are divided by legislative district. We are holding a training day at South Seattle College on 1/10/26
