TO LIST YOUR SHARED LEAVE REQUEST

  • Once you’ve been approved by your agency or institution, AFSCME Council 28 (WFSE) can place shared leave requests for union members here.
  • To make a request, send your information to [email protected]. Please include HR or PR contact's full name and phone number so donors know how to make the donation.
  • Donations of unused annual leave, sick leave or all or part of personal holidays can be made.
  • In all cases, agencies or institutions must approve requests to donate and receive shared leave.

ABOUT USSLP:

The 2007 Legislature created a Uniformed Service Shared Leave Pool (USSLP) to allow employees to donate leave for any employee who has been called to service in the uniformed services and who meets the shared leave requirements. IN NEED OF SHARED LEAVE: Justin Chappell, a UI specialist 2 with ESD in Spokane and a member of Local 1221, is requesting donations of Shared Leave to cover the 2 months he will be out recovering from multi fractures to his right forearm and his left tibia during a vehicle accident.  Justin was hit by a car as it ran through an intersection. He was riding his motorcycle and unable to avoid the car. His injuries required multiple pins and plates.  Justin is eligible to receive Shared Leave. IN NEED OF SHARED LEAVE: Maylee Stevenson, an HMIS trainer/com specialist 2 at Commerce, in Olympia, and union steward and member of Local 443, is requesting donations of Shared Leave. Maylee is in need of assistance while she is caring for her husband during his lengthy recovery from a sudden spinal cord disorder that left him partially paralyzed and in a wheelchair . Mr. Stevenson's recovery may last for months to years and will require her care until he can be deemed safely independent. She was diagnosed with IDC and DCIS Breast Cancer in June, currently she undergoing TCHP chemo infusions and has completed 5 of 6 infusions. When she has completes the Chemotherapy regimen in January she will have a Double Masectomy.
