Contract Proposal

Before You Submit a Contract Proposal...

  • You must be a dues-paying WFSE member. Not a member? Join here.
  • Healthcare or retirement proposals? See important information below.

For state / higher education contracts, the law prohibits bargaining over retirement, so proposals related to retirement will not be accepted. Also for state contracts, negotiation over health care benefits is done in a coalition with many other unions and limited by law to “the dollar amount expended on behalf of each employee for health care benefits.”

Separate from bargaining, WFSE strongly advocates for good health care and retirement benefits with members who sit on the PEBB Benefits Board and Washington State Investment Board.

While proposals are always being accepted, there are cutoff dates for each round of bargaining. Please contact your Council Representative or the MCC if you'd like to confirm whether your proposal will be considered for the upcoming contract or the contract after that.

Check our Bargaining Updates page for information on current negotiations.
