We Forced Them to Show Up Prepared. Now, We Need You to Show Them Our Strength.

Your UW Bargaining Team

Your bargaining team has been relentlessly fighting for our contract, and our pressure caused management to finally show up ready to work with us.

After last week’s disappointing session, we reminded UW Labor Relations that bargaining team members are juggling busy lives—full time jobs, commuting (often from outside Seattle!), taking care of families—and that doesn’t stop us from coming to the table prepared to bargain.

It worked. Holding their feet to the fire led them back to the table this week with work done before our session started.

Management sent over a few of their initial proposals, and we are expecting to get more at our next session on July 16th. All non-economic proposals will be proposed by the 16th.

This time is crucial. We need to show UW that we are more united than we’ve ever been and remind them of the consequences if they decide to short-change us.

An organized workforce is the ammunition your bargaining team needs to get management to give us the pay, working conditions, and time off we deserve.

How You Can Help: Tell Your Story!

UW cares about their public perception. It’s time to get patients, students, and our communities involved.

Every single employee makes a difference at UW with their time and effort, and far too many of us are being thanked for that effort with subpar pay and unreasonable working conditions.

We also know that you have stories of being unable to afford living in and around Seattle, sacrificing to make ends meet, and worrying about what the future holds.

Meanwhile, UW has over $10 billion in their coffers. It’s unacceptable.

Tell us how your work makes a difference at UW and what a fair contract would mean for you. Living closer to the community you serve? Sleeping soundly at night, knowing you can afford food? Finally getting to take care of yourself and your family without going into debt?

Every story matters. Help us share the truth of what workers at UW experience, and we’ll make management confront the realities they put us through.
