TAMWU 2025-2027 Contract Unanimously Ratified

Negotiation of the 2025-2027 Tentative Agreement between the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) and the Tacoma Art Museum (TAM) has concluded!
Thanks to your actions in the workplace, the TAMWU contract achieves several major goals identified as priorities by the membership:
- Despite challenging budget projections, the contract secures general wage increases of 3% in 2025 and 3% in 2026.
- The contract secures a starting wage of $20 per hour to Visitor Services staff and $22 per hour to Visitor Services Leads.
- Two Visitor Services positions will move to full-time status with one of these positions becoming a Museum Store Lead with the same $22 per hour Visitor Services Lead wage.
- Additional increases to salaries of 2% for every five years of service was secured for those who have been with the museum for long tenures.
- When a holiday falls on a Thursday and the museum is closed, all Visitor Services staff will receive 10 hours of pay regardless of whether they are full or part-time.
- Clearly defined job descriptions will now be updated and available for all employees.
- Clearly defined grievance procedures are laid out and come with the backing of our union representatives.
- Yearly reviews will be implemented to ensure management is held accountable to an employee’s work load and acknowledgment of growing job duties.
We want to thank you all for your hard work, research, job actions, and solidarity. Your strength makes all the difference!
