LAP Bargaining update #6

On Monday July 13th and 20th  your LAP bargaining team met with the State. We knew this was going to be a tough cycle, but what OFM is proposing is past disappointing. It's insulting. Their budget presentation was filled with contradiction: on the one hand, they pay lip service to acknowledging and praising the value we bring to what we do and the many Washingtonians we help. On the other hand they’re making it clear we’re not a priority in the budget and we don’t matter in terms of fair pay or cost of living increases.  

In contrast our Bargaining team presented economic proposals that acknowledge increased costs of living, seek to address the interpreter shortage, and prioritizes the services we provide.

On July 20th the state said not only do we not have any money for you, they are not even interested in discussing non-economic changes that would hold coordinating entities and providers accountable to treating us with respect.

A budget is a statement of priorities, tell Governor Fergusson and OFM to prioritize us and the communities we serve:
