Telling our stories is how we'll win. We're not nameless, faceless public workers. We have families. We have people depending on us.

Our state has been in a staffing crisis since at least the Great Recession. We need to tell our elected officials what their proposals will mean for their constituents who depend on us having the staffing levels and resources necessary to get our work done.

Send WFSE a video here or use this page to tag priority legislators in your own post.

Record a short video with:

  • I'm a member of the Washington Federation of State Employees who works at ________. (this will protect you from violating your employer's media policy, as you are speaking in your capacity as a union member)
  • Explain how rising healthcare costs, furloughs, and layoffs would impact your family and the people who depend on your work.
  • Explain the value of your work and how Washingtonians would be harmed if you were forced to take furloughs or laid off.
