Inslee proposes supplemental budget that finally enacts capital-construction budget, upgrades to institutions, natural resources, public safety, parks higher education

Gov. Jay Inslee today (Dec. 14) proposed a 2018 Supplemental Budget including the full 2017-2019 Capital-Construction Budget.

That $4.5 billion plan still has not passed because the former Senate majority refused to vote on it.

WSU Local 1066 members spring into action

Local 1066 at Washington State University in Pullman has a new slate of officers elected last night (Dec. 6) as the local joins the common-sense effort to not balance WSU’s budget on the backs of students, workers and vital programs.

Local 1066’s new officers: President Michelle Edenso; Vice President Victor Edenso; Secretary Eric Needham; Treasurer Deb Haupt; Executive Board - Derek Jones, Nate Smith; and Trustees John Baldwin, Brad Wilson.

Signs of the times for stewards in action!

Twenty-four WFSE/AFSCME members and staff completed a two-day Stewards in Action "Train the Trainer" course yesterday and today (Dec. 6-7) at the Olympia Field Office. Port Angeles Local 1463 does it again
