Rembering Larry Goodman
Word has reached us from former Exec. Dir. Gary Moore and former Dep. Dir. Mark Brown that Larry Goodman, the WFSE director of personnel boards and later field services from 1967 to 1996, died over the weekend.
Goodman was a major force in bringing about our historic, half-billion dollar pay equity settlement for women in WA state government, known as the comparable worth settlement. In 1989, he masterfully guided an upgrade package through the old State Personnel Board that brought huge pay raises to attendant counselors -- at the time the largest job class in state government.
