What We’re Looking For:
The Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) is recruiting to fill an Accounting Specialist position located in the Olympia, WA. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for accounting functions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll or other areas as directed.
Additional duties include:
- Processes payroll, accounts payable, and member & staff expense reimbursements.
- Process all per capita payments to AFSCME, Locals and CLC’s.
- Maintain relationships with payroll offices, members and staff.
- Reconciles accounts and adjusts irregularities.
- Performs special projects requiring extensive research, interpretation, or auditing of payroll data.
- May provide clerical assistance as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Two (2) years professional accounting experience including accounts receivable, payable and ADP payroll processing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and 10-key typing.
- Excellent analytics and data reporting skills.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working in a labor union.
Special Note:
As a condition of employment, candidates who accept a position will be required to provide proof of vaccination from COVID-19. Additionally, it is expected that selected candidates live within commuting distance of their assigned work location. This position is overtime eligible and may be required to work some weekends. Benefits include annual and sick leave, medical/dental, life, and long term disability insurance, and holidays. Salary range is $68,845 to $79,267 and will be determined commensurate with experience.
