Ratification of the 2027-2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement

Negotiation of the 2027-2029 Tentative Agreement between the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) and University of Washington Police Management (UWPM) has concluded!

The tentative agreement (TA) achieves several major goals identified as priorities by the membership:  

• Vacation bidding in the CBA
• Shift selection
• Increase in bereavement from 3 to 5 days
• Double-time for commencement
• Arbitration cost sharing
• 10% for Field Training Officer (FTO)
• Retention incentive

o   $5,000 in each year of the contract for a total of $10,000!

• Increases to the Educational Incentive
  • AA- 2%
  • BA - 4%
  • Advanced degree - 5%
• Double-time on all Patrol overtime through December 2026
• Take Home Vehicle MOU:

Members demanded take home cars as an incentive to recruit and retain qualified staff and we won! The pilot starts with three un-marked vehicles but allows the Chief to add additional vehicles.

Because of these achievements, your Bargaining Team recommends that you vote YES toACCEPT this Agreement!
