SPSCC Exempt Bargaining Update #3 - April 25, 2025
Your SPSCC Exempt Bargaining Team met with management for the third time on April 25th, and it was a big day. Compensation proposals went back and forth across the table with your Bargaining Team fighting hard, speaking up and sharing personal stories about how important an increase in wages is for the future of SPSCC. Higher wages would enable the college to recruit and retain the best possible candidates for the job and show that they value your education and hard work that has led to SPSCC being named one of the best community colleges in the country. We did see positive movement from management, but we’re going to continue fighting for more.
Once again, it’s important to remember that this is an interactive process that cannot happen without you! Membership in your union is the first and most important step to supporting your bargaining team. You can join WFSE by clicking here! Your membership in your union sends a message to management that we value our right to collectively bargain a strong contract and gives you the right to vote on the final outcome!
Our next meeting with management is May 6th, and compensation will, once again, be at the forefront. Wear a WFSE shirt, a WFSE pin, or just WFSE green that day to show your support and look for a notification about an upcoming meeting to discuss more ways you can support your Bargaining Team.
In the meantime, please take a moment to share your voice and tell our elected officials to say NO to furloughs and fund our contracts! Anything we negotiate could be threatened by our current economic environment. To send a message to your representatives, please click here.
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
