ALJ Bargaining Update

ALJ Bargaining Update: Your Voice Matters
On June 11, your Administrative Law Judge bargaining team met with OAH management for four bargaining sessions as we continue negotiations for our next contract.
Bargaining is a marathon, not a sprint, and we're working diligently to move issues forward while keeping members' priorities at the center of every discussion. While progress at the table has been slower than we'd like, your team remains focused on building a contract that reflects the professionalism, expertise, and value ALJs bring to Washington State every day.
Throughout the day, your bargaining team continued advancing a broad range of member-driven priorities and workplace issues. We came prepared with numerous proposals and ideas informed by your experiences and feedback, and we will continue pressing for meaningful improvements at the table. As negotiations continue, the strength of our position depends on staying connected to the members we represent.
Your Input Is Critical
If you haven't already completed the bargaining survey, now is the time. The survey remains open through June 30, and your responses help your bargaining team understand what matters most to ALJs across the state. Your feedback guides how we prioritize issues and helps ensure we're advocating for the concerns that have the greatest impact on our membership.
Every survey response strengthens our ability to speak with one voice at the bargaining table.
We need to hear from you! Please fill out our bargaining survey today so we can advocate for your top priorities at the table.
What Comes Next
Negotiations will continue in the coming weeks. While progress can sometimes feel incremental, every bargaining session is an opportunity to move closer to the contract our members deserve.
Thank you for your support, engagement, and solidarity throughout this process. Stay tuned for future updates, and please encourage your fellow ALJs to complete the bargaining survey before June 30.
Together, we are stronger.
In solidarity,
Your ALJ Bargaining Team (Andra, Courtney, Marek, Russ, and Tom)
