From the streets to the table! GG Bargaining Update #4
Yesterday (06-03-26) brought some progress at the table. The session felt more collaborative and constructive, and we reached one more tentative agreement—but there is still a long way to go.
As we all know, this bargaining cycle is taking place in a challenging budget situation—and that's an understatement.
We're not letting that stop our progress. We’re continuing to find ways to improve your jobs, right wrongs, and offer more balance and opportunities for self care to help folks find more balance. We'll continue to do everything we can to address the burnout we know so many of us are dealing with.
We're continuing to gather data to push our members' priorities forward, and next week we'll be spending two days as a team having crucial conversations about the priorities you have identified. You are at the heart of every proposal and discussion at the bargaining table. We need you to keep pushing this process forward.
Saying NO to doing more with less
Watch the video updatefrom Shannon Barry, GG bargaining team member and Division of Child Support employee.
"We have really appreciated everyone reaching out and sharing their stories with us. A lot of what we hear is that everyone is being asked to do more with less. We recognize that employee wellbeing and safety is vital to continuing the work we are doing. We cannot have an entire workforce that burns out from everything that is being put on them right now."

Solidarity at the table and across Washington
Our team is strong, united, and solid. We're working together to get the best contract for our members. And we know you have our backs, because we saw so many of you turn out for the May 30th community action. From coffee shops to tattoo shops, bookstores, and beyond, our community gave a big YES to supporting our journey to a strong contract and the income that will keep in our communities.
Your voices are present at the table. Your solidarity moves us forward, lifts our spirits during challenging sessions, and moves this entire process forward. The stories and information you're sharing about your work are playing a critical role at the table, so keep 'em coming. Read below for actions you can take this week!

We can't do this without you.
Without our strength in numbers and a powerful collective push, management is not going to move forward. That means we all need to pitch in.
Let's keep the momentum going after our amazing community action last Saturday.
