Bargaining Has Started!

The Department of Corrections (DOC) Collective Bargaining negotiations team (Marlanea Aspden, Doug Chaput, Bill Copland, James Furchert, Scott Lee, Anthony Perkins, Sean Raybell and Labor Advocate Ton Johnson)met on March 19th and 20th at the headquarters building of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) to get training on the bargaining process and to review the contract proposals submitted by the members of the union. This team will be negotiating the first DOC stand alone contract in over a decade. The team will be drafting contract language and preparing to meet with the Office of Financial Management (OFM) to negotiate the terms of the 2027-2029 collective bargaining agreement.
