Vote By Aug. 4 Because No Workforce Has More at Stake

No other workforce has more at stake in the decisions made by elected officials.
AFSCME Council 28/WFSE has released its full list of political endorsements for the 2020 August primary. View the full list here. Members made endorsements after a series of interviews to determine where candidates stand on issues impacting public employees.

Note the following:

  1. Union members decide who our union endorses by interviewing and evaluating candidates.
  2. We don’t tell members who to vote for; instead, we tell members which candidates are better on state employee issues.
  3. We focus on what unites us: wages, benefits, job security, working conditions, outsourcing, and collective bargaining.

Bold Leadership to Make Bold Change
Considering the current economic crisis, likely budget cuts and greater dangers facing public employees and the public we serve, WFSE endorsed strong candidates who could commit to the following:

  • Saving vital public services and fixing our unfair revenue system
  • Opposing outsourcing and privatizing public services
  • Investing in our communities
  • Will protect defined benefit pensions and fight for affordable healthcare
  • Leadership we need in this time of crisis
  • Strong defender of unions and union values
