Keeping Kids SAFE - Rally for Action

Join Keeping Kids SAFE and others from around the state to speak up about the extreme and increasing rates of critical incidents (child deaths and near-deaths) in Child Welfare.  A wide coalition of people will be attending to show up for the children and families of our state, to educate lawmakers and the public, and to demand change.

You can invite your legislators to this event, and tell them to change the standard of removal from imminent physical harm to serious or substantial harm, using the legislative hotline: 800-833-6384.  You can find out who represents you at this link.

Agenda

10 AM - 12:30 PM - gather at Tivoli Fountain (103 Capitol Way S, Olympia, WA 98501) and along the main thoroughfare. We will deliver items to legislators helping them remember the kids are a priority of their constituents this session. Attendees will receive information as well about how to sign up for testimony during the session and how to contact their representatives.

12:30 PM - 1 PM transition to legislative building steps (416 Sid Snyder Ave SW, Olympia, WA 98504) carrying symbolic items and calling for change as we move.

1 PM - 3 PM - assemble on the legislative steps to hear key speakers, honor the lives lost, and share our vision with Olympia for the future of the children.

3 PM- 4 PM speak with representatives or other officials, how to continue the movement forward as a concerned stakeholder.
