Ice Cream Social on July 24

Come one, come all, to Local 872’s annual ice cream social.

Join us for a chat and a cold treat out on the back lawn of the Lacey Ecology Building on July 24.

Local union volunteers, leaders, and WFSE staff will serve delicious local Olympic Mountain ice cream and sorbet. A democratic vote at our last general membership meeting chose the flavors! Bring your own dish and spoon, please, if you do not want a cone. Yes, we have dairy-free options.

Come to see us (with a bowl, spoon, and cloth napkin?), starting at 11:30 am. Stewards will be available to answer contract and employee-rights questions.

  • Chat with coworkers.
  • Sign up for a year’s 100% Union subscription, if you have not already done so.
  • Sign up for the mailing list to hear of future events.
  • Grab your button for the E$ Fair Pay campaign and Button Up Wednesdays.
  • Voice your support for Public Service and family-wage jobs.
  • Grab your E$ Fair Pay cubicle sign.
  • Help us eat all the ice cream we can, knowing that, no matter what we manage, there will still be plenty left over for our annual Lacey Boys and Girls Club donation.

While you must be a member to attend meetings and vote on flavor choice (and other issues), everyone is invited to join us to eat ice cream and sorbet.

Also, you might want to wear a sun hat. See you there!
