In Olympia, special interest groups spend millions of dollars every year working with politicians to try and cut our wages and benefits, outsource public services, and take away our freedom to join together to negotiate better conditions. AFSCME PEOPLE is how we fight back. It stands for Public Employees Organized to Promote Legislative Equality. It’s our union’s Political Action Committee, funded entirely by union members’ voluntary contributions.

Political action means registering voters, getting on phones, knocking on doors and building the state’s most vibrant member lobbying program. It means rallying, campaigning and making sure that all working families get a fair shot. It means electing candidates who care about public services and the people who provide them.
