Ken Clark

University of Washington, Maintenance Mechanic Lead
Ken Clark (he/him) has been working at the University of Washington as a glazier since 2015, and is currently serving his second term as Vice President for WFSE 1495. In 2019 he was promoted to shop lead for the masons and glaziers in the building envelope group. He has been on our bargaining team twice and is on this year’s team as well. While on the bargaining team he saw management targeting raises for job classifications that are already paid a lot more than some of our lower wage members.
Although even the highest paid members deserve more, he opposes leaving the lowest paid members behind. In order to oppose these types of proposals from management, we must continue to increase our paid membership as well as engagement with current paid members. He will continue to prioritize preventing bad proposals from being implemented into our contract, strongly advocating for every member to have a safe, respectful and equitable workplace. In his spare time Ken enjoys gardening and renovating his home.
