It’s time. At noon today, we walk out.

Yesterday, your General Government bargaining team met with the Office of Financial Management (OFM) for another marathon 14-hour day.

You already know what the sticking point is: compensation. We’re no closer to the compensation we all deserve—to the fair pay that will stem the tide of turnover and make public service a sustainable career.

We’ve presented the data. We’ve shared stories from dedicated public employees across this state who have been assaulted, who are trying their level best to cope with absurd caseloads, who are sick and tired of doing more with less.

OFM knows all of this. And their response just doesn’t make sense. They’re trying to balance the budget on our backs, while simultaneously failing to problem-solve on proposals that don’t cost money but would make a big difference for their employees.

That’s why we are walking out. That’s why we need you to come out BIG today. We will fight for this at the table through 14-hour days, but what is really going to move the needle is our entire union turning out in force and saying, “ENOUGH.” We saw the needle move on compensation after crowds of you came out for the Building Bridges event. Today we need to show that we as a union are watching this process. We need to flex our collective power.

We’ll see you out there.

In solidarity,
