Jan 13, 2017
House Bill 1158, to repeal affirmative action restrictions in Initiative 200, Tim Eyman-sponsored measure passed by voters in 1998, was introduced this week.
HB 1158 would “restore the fair treatment of underserved groups in public employment, education and contracting,” according to the bill’s digest. HB 1158 has been referred to the House Technology and Economic Development Committee. No hearing has been set yet.
To help HB 1158 along, you can call your two House members at 1-800-562-6000 and urge them to support HB 1158.
