Trades and admin support staff members of your General Government bargaining team share details about our two fair pay petitions: Support Staff Support Us All and Pay Trades!
More details on these campaigns in our last update and below.
---
Yesterday, during our sixth negotiations session for your 2025-2027 union contract, management presented the June revenue forecast for the state.
It showed that revenue has not grown as expected.
The changing revenue picture will make the outcome of November's gubernatorial elections, and three initiatives, more critical than ever.
In November, we’ll be voting for the folks that will have the final say — yes or no — on if the state can afford the gains in our contract. If you’re a dues-paying member, you’ll be receiving information from our Legislative and Political Action Department soon.
Management did finally respond to some of our proposals, but thus far have been unwilling to move on things that are important to us.
We are trying to solve problems at the bargaining table — that’s why you all sent us here — but we are not finding a partner for that important work.
Our team has made it clear that we expect substantive and timely responses to our proposals.
Management did indicate that they may have their compensation proposal to us on July 22. That’s big news.
Their compensation proposal is a value statement about what they think you are worth. Stay tuned.
There’s a big disconnect. You can help fix it.
We’re halfway through negotiations for our next contract.
Throughout this entire process (and very evident yesterday), there has been a disconnect between the reality we see in our worksites and hear in conversations with our coworkers and the reality being described by management in these bargaining sessions.
They don’t understand the conditions on the ground that you all face every day.
We’d like them to go out and work with you all for a day to see what it’s like. We’re not sure if they’d take us up on that, so we have an ask for you.

Get Involved!
Attend events supporting a strong contract! Check WFSE.org/Calendar to find events year you!
Our members being loud in the worksites makes all the difference at the bargaining table.
We have several Trades events coming up, and a unity break action statewide on July 22 to support our support staff. Check our calendar for more!
One of the best ways you can send a message is by joining our union.
Being a member signals to management that we’re strong, we’re united, and we’re going to fight for what we deserve. Management knows our membership numbers at each and every agency, and it has a real impact on what they agree to and what proposals they reject.
Pay Trades and Support Staff Campaigns
As we mentioned in our last update, our bargaining team is supporting two contract campaigns for significant pay raises for our members who work in the trades and support staff positions. You can read more about that here.
