AWAAG Bargaining Update #3 - August 1, 2024

We introduced our economic proposals in today’s bargaining session. Your bargaining team took your feedback and priorities to heart, and brought forward a creative, comprehensive, and multi-faceted package that addresses several key issues including:

  • Overall grid adjustments to help make our starting salaries competitive with our public sector peers,
  • Structural changes in pursuit of equity and to recognize the practical day-to-day job duties,
  • Recruitment flexibility, and
  • Retention of institutional knowledge

We also introduced some new concepts to address work-related expenses and reduction of our carbon footprint.

We have been made well aware of the economic difficulties that we are competing with, but your bargaining team made a compelling argument for these improvements. This will not be an easy process, and your team will need you to take action to support their efforts.
