ABHS Bargaining Update 3/23/18

So what is happening with your raises?

Your bargaining team met with ABHS management again on Thursday, March 22, 2018.

Several proposals were exchanged but the employer’s message on key issues, like your raises, remains the same. Your bargaining team held firm on those proposals and we are now awaiting a new counter proposal from ABHS management.


How we do we win a strong Union contract? Thank you to everyone who has participated in job actions to send a message to your employer that you are 100% Union and United for a strong contract!

  1. Continue to join your brothers and sisters in saying NO to managements’ proposed takeaways and YES to a strong contract!
  2. Show your solidarity and readiness to stand strong by wearing your UNION GREEN shirt and STRONG & FAIR CONTRACT buttons/stickers once a week for all to see. Let them know you will not settle for less by keeping those signs in your car windows, too!

When is the next bargaining session?

The next date has not yet been confirmed but will likely be in mid-April. Stay tuned!

Many of you are probably wondering what happens if the current contract term ends without negotiations being complete for your next contract.

Not to fear! Article 33.2 of your contract, “Term of Agreement”, states in part:

“If this Agreement expires while negotiations between the Union and the Employer are underway for a successor Agreement, the terms and conditions of this Agreement will remain in full force and effect for a period not to exceed one (1) year from the expiration date.”

This means that all of the hard won terms of your contract remain in effect while you continue to fight for a strong successor Agreement.
