MISCELLANEOUS POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING
MINUTES FOR JANUARY 28th, 2017

Call to Order-12:00pm

Executive Board Reports

  • Wendy Conway-Communication committee-changes made to the Council 28 website which have made the website more user friendly. Changes have also been made to the Member Handbook Linda Erickson-Steward committee- WFSE Review Committee is researching a Member Resource model similar to models used by Unions in California and Oregon.
  • Ingrid Hansen-Green Machine starting to visit worksites statewide in May. Be on the lookout! April Policy meeting is canceled. Spoke on the Progressive Caucus meeting, Representative Mike Pellicciotti District 30 attended.
  • Jeff Paulsen-Reported that Initiative One failed
  • Joanne McCaughan- Safety Committee, they are looking for everyday heroes at worksites, articles on everyday heroes will appear in the Council 28 newspaper
  • Heather Pyles-excused
  • Brooks Salazar-Wisha violations need to be reported to L&I. Port of Grays Harbor County council vote to be held soon
